What is Dev(){CoP}?

Dev(){CoP} (developer community of practice) is group of enthusiastic engineers (software, testing, architects, security and networking) in Melbourne.

We get together regularly to discuss new technologies, issues and ideas.

Who is it for?

Whether you’re a working professional, student or simply curious about technology, we have a place for you.

Our senior members love to mentor and share insights from their experience. Our junior members love asking great questions and their perspectives are always refreshing.

What else do we do?

At our core, we are into technology and supporting each other. With this in mind we:

  • attend meetups as a group
  • hold ad-hoc training (mobbing sessions coming soon!)
  • mentor people looking to up-skill or even break into the industry
  • share our experiences of events and conferences (and bring back swag!)
  • share up-coming events and conferences that might be of interest
  • share information on job openings

Where are we located?

Our events are located in Melbourne CBD or Docklands. For exact details, please see our Meetup events.

Lately, we have been socially distancing and using Zoom and Mural to continue our regular meetups.

How can I join the fun?

The best way to join is via our meetup group. This will keep you up-to-date of all events. https://www.meetup.com/DevCoP-Melbourne/

Outside the meetup, we hang out on the Dev(){CoP} Slack. It’s a great place to continue the discussions and networking after our events. https://bit.ly/34HnMYM

Who runs the group?

The group was founded by Paul and Simon in October 2017. Currently the group is organised by Paul, James and Victor.

A huge thank-you to our past organisers Simon, Nicole and Tom for their dedication and contributions!

Another huge thank-you to our sponsor Papercut Software. When we meet in person, they kindly sponsor our coffee that fuels our chats!

We hope this has piqued your interest! We’d love to see you at one of our future events!

See you soon!
